New Expansion for Pirates CSG Online Currently in Development

Sony Online Entertainment sends word of a new expansion for Pirates CSG Online.
Sony Online Entertainment LLC (SOE), a global leader in the online games industry, announced that Pirates of the Spanish Main, the newest expansion for the Pirates Constructible Strategy Game(TM) (CSG) Online, is currently in development at the company’s Denver studios and scheduled to launch Tuesday, February 27, 2007. The Pirates CSG Online is based on WizKids’ successful tabletop strategy game, where players build 3D ships from die-cut cards and sail the high seas in search of treasure.
"Pirates of the Spanish Main is the first of many expansions SOE has planned to support the growing community of players for Pirates CSG Online," said Christopher E. Sturr, senior global brand manger, Sony Online Entertainment. "They’ve been eager for more content, and I think their patience will be more than rewarded with this expansion."
Pirates of the Spanish Main introduces a fleet of 68 new virtual ships for players to collect – stealthy corvettes, majestic galleons and speedy schooners – and complete crew rosters for the Spanish, English and Pirate navies. The expansion also adds even more "treasure" icons that can be placed on the online map and protected or looted from other digital buccaneers. Single digital game packs are available for $3.99 each, and include all the tools necessary for play online. Digital game pack boxes, which include 18 digital game packs of Pirates of the Spanish Main, as well as one random Limited Edition bonus ship from the Spanish Main set, are available for $65.00.
Along with the previously released Pirates of Davy Jones’ Curse, the Spanish Main expansion kicks off an exciting schedule of releases and activities for 2007, with a digital expansion scheduled for release every other month.
