DarkStar One demo available

Today CDV is pleased to announce the release of a new single-player demo for their upcoming space adventure title, DarkStar One. The all-new demo (~950 MB) contains a huge variety of worlds, equipment upgrades and alien races, offering the player an estimated two+ hours of gameplay. The demo also contains an extensive tutorial that follows the story line direct from the full retail game. As with the full game, the demo offers players the opportunity to play in free-form mode, creating their own adventure on-the-fly, or follow the storyline to learn more about the death of the lead character's father, and the mysterious ship, the DarkStar One.

    Activision, Inc., and Infinity Ward today released the Invasion Map Pack™ for Call of Duty® 2: five new multiplayer maps that further expand the experience of the #1 top-selling title for the Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. The Invasion Map Pack is currently available for purchase (800 Microsoft Points) on Xbox Live ® Marketplace.




    Final Fantasy XII due out October 31st

    Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of Square Enix™ interactive entertainment products in North America, today announced that FINAL FANTASY® XII will be available in stores October 31, 2006, exclusively for the PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system.

    In addition, a limited run of the FINAL FANTASY XII Collector's Edition will be available exclusively at GameStop and EB Games stores, as well as through the e-commerce sites GameStop.com and EBgames.com. Housed within special packaging, the bonus DVD offers Japanese and American promotional trailers, in-depth developer interviews, an art gallery and featurettes focusing on highlights of the FINAL FANTASY franchise.

    FINAL FANTASY XII, which has sold over 2.4 million units in Japan since its release on March 16, 2006, will retail for a suggested retail price of $49.99 (USD) and $59.99 (USD) for the Collector's Edition.




    Sword of the Stars finds a publisher

    Destineer Publishing and Lighthouse Interactive today announced a partnership to publish the ground-breaking title Sword of the Stars.     Prey on stores shelves

    New York, NY – June 28, 2006 – 2K, a publishing label of Take-Two Interactive Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: TTWO), and 3D Realms today announced the first-person shooter Prey has gone to gold master and will be available in North America on July 11th and in Europe on July 14th. Developed by Human Head Studios under the direct supervision of 3D Realms, Prey will be available for Xbox 360™ video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and PC in both a regular edition and a Limited Collector's Edition. The demo for the PC version of Prey is currently available for download, with an Xbox 360 demo available soon.




    Naruto: Ultimate Ninja in stores
