So the Wii is on a mission to show gamers and developers why the Wii-remote is the best thing since sliced bread and how it will change games forever. We've had Wii sports leading the way, with WiiPlay tagging closely behind. But if there's one game that is going to open peoples eyes as to how awesome and innovative the Wii-remote really is, then it's Wario Ware: Smooth moves. Even when our fat, bicep bulging bad guy is up to mischief, he somehow manages to get us all to love him long time.

So just how good are Wario's Ware's?

Having never played a Wario Ware game before (other than Wario Ware: Touched!, albeit briefly) I had no expectations of what to expect. So I guess you could ask - Well if you have never properly played a Wario Ware game before, then what made you pick up Smooth moves? In a nutshell: The Wii-remote. All us Wii owners know what a brilliant device it is and have only seen the scratched surface in terms of what it can do. I also made a promise to myself that I would broaden my horizons when it came to my Wii games collection and what better way to do that than with a Wario Ware game!

For those who don't know, Wario Ware is a collection of quick mini games which have you doing the most bizarre of tasks. Some of which make sense and others which make none what-so-ever. So far, Smooth moves has had me placing dentures in an old ladies mouth, saving a woman falling from a building, wafting away fart stenches, driving a car to avoid monkeys in the road, answering the telephone as a Geisha, feeding an overweight baby, inserting a SNES cartridge into a console, doing the hula, slapping my own ass with the Wii-remote - Would you like me to go on? The game is crazy, but amazingly fun.

The presentation of this game is top notch. The graphics in this game aren't really a selling point, but they do look great. Everything looks clean and sharp and the animation is simple, but very stylistic and works well. The mini games themselves are hardly pushing the hardware, but they look clean and are well presented. Everything about this game is all about charm and the look of it has charmed the socks off of me. The audio is also brilliant. There is not a single moment in this game where you're pitted against silence. The music is crazy and fun, but infectious and catchy.

The lastability of this game is as long as you want it to be. Unlocking everything will not take long, but the attraction of this game are the mini games themselves and every one is so much fun that you won't even care if you've done them hundreds of times before.

The only problem with this game is that for newbies, this game may prove a little daunting. The mini games come so thick 'n fast that the only thing they'll be doing with flying colors is failing them. So even though this is a great party game and it's easy to play - do not expect everyone to grasp it as quickly as Wii sports. Still...part of the fun is learning, so I guess in that respect it just adds to the fun factor.

If there's one game which showcases how brilliant the Wii-remote truly is, it's this game. Wario Ware is also proof that any dodgy Wii-remote related controls you've experienced with other games is down to the developers themselves and not the remote. Every single position you're asked to place the Wii-remote in, you'll find it responds and registers perfectly. The controls are nothing short of perfection. The most fun is to be had in multiplayer, but even as a single player experience the game is still a treat. I find myself creasing with laughter every time I play this because of how stupid I look tackling some of the challenges. And also because the game has this silly sense of humor which is genuinely funny. The explanations of the new forms will definitely raise a smile, trust me. (There's also some cool treats for long time Nintendo lovers in the form of 9-Volt's mini games).

Wario Ware is a game that many are weary of picking up due to it being essentially a collection of mini games. But you're doing yourself a major injustice buy letting this sit on the shelves. Wario Ware is a must buy and if you thought Wii Sports was fun, you haven't experienced the half of it. Make sure this game is in your collection now!
