El Matador, being developed by Plastic Reality Technologies, is a third-person tactical action game. We were able to pry the devs away for a few moments and talk to them about their game.
Tell us a bit about El Matador and what you hope to accomplish with it.
El Matador is third person tactical action shooter which will indroduce you a world where antidrug organisation DEA fights against organized crime in the South America. The player will take a role of a special DEA agent who decided to fight one of the most dangerous narcomafia in the world. CENEGA PUBLISHING, our publisher, is planning to release the game at the end of this year.
The engine looks to be able to render large outdoor areas. What kind of features can we expect from the game engine? How well can it render indoor areas?
Our inhouse engine Typhoon2 developed by our programmers has been in development since a long time and nowadays it is comparable with current top engines on the market. It is able to render very large outdoor scenes as well as indoor areas. We have implemented physical engine, multiblend features and facial animations in order to achieve maximum of amusement and feeling of reality. Finally El Matador will introduce a variety of interesting and hidden environments and we need extraordinary tools for the development and presentation.

We know this is a third-person tactical action game. Can the player enable first-person view, or is it third-person only?
El Matador is developed primarily as third person title, it has been not decided yet whether first person view will be available.
Will the game ship with an editor? If so, what can the player do with it?
At the moment is our editor tool developed for professional use, without any userfriendly support. This means that the game will be released without the editor, however upon the reaction of gaming community we will make a decision whether we will release the editor or not. We will surely plan to support the mod community in the future.
Recently, games such as Half-Life 2, Far Cry, and Doom 3 have raised the bar not only in terms of graphics, but also in storytelling and immersion. What’s being done to El Matador to ensure this is a cutting edge game?
El Matador is a visually attractive triller with a story of revenge and justice which will attract you and amuse.
What feature are you most proud of?
This is quite a difficult question, because every player likes something else. El Matador has got brilliant graphics for users having very good graphics accelerator cards, and, for example, advanced hierarchical intelligence of enemies.

Will the game feature any kind of inventory system? Any RPG elements?
No, there won´t be any items in inventory system, neither RPG elements, imagine title like this where the player is looking up thing in inventory, there is no time for it, the title is a dynamic action where is no time for statistics or alike.
How many weapons will El Matador have?
The player´s character is in envitonment where in emergency any gun can be used. In the game the player can fight without any weapons, only with hands or with tools like axe and alike. Of course a variety of gun weapons is available, including automatic guns, plus Sniper rifles or granades.
Final number of the weapons should exceed twenty.
What kinds of environments will the game feature?
Sadly I can not reveal every fact about the game at the moment, however during the game the player will visit new environments and surrounding which will attract the player and bring new experience, in wild dschungel, city suburbs or at private properties.
Will El Matador have multiplayer? If so, what kinds of modes will there be?
No, there is no place for multiplayer at the moment due the game has got a strong story.

Will there be a demo before the game is released?
Yes, we are preparing a demo, which we will release before the title hits the shelf.
After El Matador, what’s next for the team?
We are working on a Xbox version as well and we have vision of a new project..
Is there anything else you’d like to add?
We wish you and all your readers all the best and a lot of great games to play. Thank you for interviewing us and see you in Columbia with El Matador!
